The Food Service Manager role at Aramark is a key management position focused on overseeing dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu. This role involves developing and implementing dining solutions tailored to customer preferences and operational needs. The Food Service Manager leads teams by using Aramark's coaching model to foster employee engagement and development. Their leadership responsibilities include motivating staff, recognizing achievements, ensuring team performance aligns with company and client expectations, and maintaining daily briefings to keep operations running smoothly.

In addition to leadership duties, the Food Service Manager is responsible for maintaining safety and sanitation standards across all dining operations, guaranteeing a safe environment for employees, clients, and customers. Financial stewardship is a critical part of the role, with responsibilities such as managing profit and loss statements, achieving financial targets, and educating teams on performance metrics, order trends, and margin improvements. The manager drives productivity through efficient operations, cost control, and meeting food and labor initiatives which follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals.

This position also requires strong client relationship management skills, identifying client needs, and effectively communicating operational progress. The Food Service Manager coordinates food service activities from planning through to delivering a finished product that meets quality and control standards. They work closely with the Food Service Director to lead the front of the house for cafeteria or residential dining facilities.

Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in a management role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard service model
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other departments
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lb
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
