The Food Service Manager role within the Portfolio Group is a critical management position responsible for designing and implementing innovative dining solutions tailored to meet customer preferences and business objectives. This role oversees all aspects of dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu, ensuring that every experience aligns with Aramark’s commitment to excellence.

As the Food Service Manager, the successful candidate will lead and develop teams by utilizing Aramark’s coaching model to unlock team potential, recognize and reward performance, and maintain high standards of performance aligned with client expectations. The role involves planning and conducting daily team briefings to foster communication and collaboration among staff.

Client relationship management is another cornerstone of this role, requiring the manager to identify client needs proactively and communicate operational progress clearly and effectively. Financial stewardship is crucial, with responsibilities including the accurate completion and maintenance of profit and loss statements, achieving financial targets for both clients and the company, and leveraging data and performance metrics to drive operational improvements and cost efficiency.

The Food Service Manager will prioritize productivity by implementing cost controls, managing profit margins, meeting food and labor initiatives, and ensuring the team is well-trained to maintain production quality and operational controls. Compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards is mandatory to provide a safe, healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees.

In addition to these core responsibilities, this role leads the front of house operations in dining facilities such as cafeterias or residential dining areas, coordinating with the Food Service Director to deliver outstanding customer experiences and seamless food service activities. The position demands adaptability since job duties may evolve to meet company commitments and customer satisfaction goals.

Job Requirements

  • follow all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour
  • lead the front of the house of the dining operation in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities to deliver a finished product to the customer
