The Food Service Manager role at Aramark is a pivotal management position responsible for leading dining operations in facilities such as cafeterias and residential dining establishments. This role involves developing and implementing dining solutions tailored to meet customer needs and preferences, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable food service experience. As a Food Service Manager, you will oversee daily operations where customers order from prepared foods on a menu, coordinate food service activities to deliver high-quality finished products, and work closely with the Food Service Director to lead the front-of-house operations. This position emphasizes leadership by using Aramark's coaching model to engage and develop team members, reward and recognize employees, and drive individual and team performance to meet business objectives and client expectations. Managing client relationships is another critical aspect, requiring effective communication to identify client needs and provide updates on operational progress. Financial performance is closely monitored through the completion and maintenance of profit and loss statements, achieving client and company financial targets, and educating teams on key performance metrics and profit management strategies.

Operational productivity and compliance are essential components of the role. Efficient operations, cost control measures, and adherence to food and labor initiatives contribute to the overall success of the dining program. Supervising teams to ensure quality production and maintaining a safe, healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees are prioritized. Job Requirements

  • Requires at least 1 year of experience
  • Requires at least 1 year of experience in a management role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard service model
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other departments
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Job Qualifications

  • Bring value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management
  • Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by meeting and maintaining food and labor initiatives
  • Ensure entire team is trained and able to implement
  • Supervise team regarding production, quality and control
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees
  • Follow all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour
  • Lead the front of the house of the dining operation (Cafeteria/ Residential Dining Facility) in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities in order to deliver a finished product to the customer
