Aramark is a global leader in food services, facilities management, and uniform services, proudly serving millions of guests daily in 15 countries around the world. Rooted in service and united by a strong purpose, Aramark strives to create positive impacts not only for their employees but also for clients, partners, and communities. The company is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and fostering an inclusive work environment where every employee can contribute without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, age, or any other protected characteristic. As a company that values professional growth, Aramark invests in developing the talents of its workforce, creating opportunities for employees to flourish, pursue new challenges, and feel a deep sense of belonging at work. Their focus on service excellence and sustainability underlines their mission to do great things for people and the planet alike.
The role of Food Service Manager at Aramark is a pivotal management position responsible for overseeing dining operations where customers order prepared food from a menu. This position involves developing and implementing dining solutions tailored to meet customer preferences and operational needs. The successful Food Service Manager will use Aramark's coaching model to engage and develop team members toward achieving their full potential, while fostering a positive and productive work environment. Leadership responsibilities include planning and leading daily team briefings, recognizing employee achievements, and ensuring both individual and team performance meet established objectives and client expectations.
In addition to leadership duties, the Food Service Manager is accountable for maintaining strong client relationships by identifying client needs and communicating progress on operational matters effectively. Financial performance management is also a crucial aspect of this role, requiring the manager to oversee profit and loss statements, deliver on financial targets for both the company and clients, and apply operational processes that optimize margins. The Food Service Manager will lead efforts to improve productivity through efficient operations, cost controls, and profit management, consistently meeting food and labor goals.
Compliance is another vital area, as the Food Service Manager must maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees by adhering to all relevant policies, including safety, health, and wage and hour regulations. This role also involves leading the front-of-house operations in collaboration with the Food Service Director, coordinating food service activities to ensure a superior customer experience. The Food Service Manager’s responsibilities may evolve to meet business needs, requiring flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
This position is ideal for individuals with at least one year of experience in food service management, strong interpersonal skills, and the capability to foster excellent customer service and professional teamwork. The job requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and the ability to stand for prolonged periods, underscoring the physical demands of managing a dynamic dining environment. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience are preferred, though the emphasis is placed strongly on managerial experience and performance excellence. This role offers the opportunity to develop new skills continuously while making a meaningful impact on both people and the business. Joining Aramark as a Food Service Manager means being part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to service excellence and community engagement.
