This management position is responsible for developing and implementing dining solutions that meet the diverse needs and tastes of customers. The Food Service Manager oversees and manages dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu, typically in settings such as cafeterias or residential dining facilities. This role requires strong leadership skills to guide food service teams effectively while ensuring that operational standards, safety, quality, and client expectations are consistently met. The Food Service Manager works closely with the Food Service Director and other departments to coordinate food service activities, delivering a finished product that satisfies customers and supports the broader goals of Aramark and its clients.

Key responsibilities include leading and developing team members using Aramark's coaching model to maximize their potential, recognizing and rewarding employees, and maintaining health and sanitation standards. Additionally, the Food Service Manager must identify client needs, communicate operational progress, and ensure financial performance by completing and maintaining profit and loss statements and meeting company financial targets. They are also tasked with managing productivity through efficient operations, cost controls, profit management, and adherence to food and labor initiatives. Job Requirements

  • ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other departments to unify food service experience for all customers
  • requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb
  • must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Job Duties

  • plan and lead daily team briefings
  • ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations
  • identify client needs and communicate operational progress
  • ensure the completion and maintenance of profit and loss statements
  • deliver client and company financial targets
  • adopt all Aramark processes and systems, understand performance metrics, data, order and inventory trends
  • educate teams on key levers to improve margins
  • bring value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management
  • follow the operational excellence fundamentals by meeting and maintaining food and labor initiatives
  • ensure entire team is trained and able to implement
  • supervise team regarding production, quality and control
  • maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees
  • follow all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including those relating to safety, health, wage and hour
  • lead the front of the house dining operation in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities to deliver a finished product to the customer
