Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of related or similar experience
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to perform medium physical work including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation requirements
- Must adhere to company policies and store guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be punctual and reliable
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of related or similar experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation encouraged
- Excellent hospitality and customer service skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations including fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Ability to guide people and provide basic direction
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Experience with inventory management and cost control
- Ability to plan menus and work with chefs
- Knowledge of safety and liquor regulations
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and workplace cleanliness
Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store
- Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking product orders
- Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Reviews daily production list with department employees and assigns tasks for completion
- Ensures food display case product is rotated and replenished
- Scans the kitchen area for cleanliness, repairs, and safety issues and assigns tasks to kitchen staff
- Ensures proper staffing in kitchen department to handle customer needs
- Oversees food quality and presentation for all relevant departments
- Oversees inventory management
- Works with chefs to plan menus and purchase supplies
- Estimates food and beverage costs
- Supervises portion control to minimize waste
- Performs frequent quality checks
- Sets department standards for service and profitability
- Analyzes sales and trends, prepares ad projections and writes ads
- Coordinates marketing and special functions
- Monitors health, safety, and liquor regulation compliance
- Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints
- Arranges for maintenance and repair of equipment
- Selects or creates menu items and sets prices based on cost analysis
- Directs hiring, training, and scheduling
- Enforces sanitary practices and food safety guidelines
- Handles customer issues professionally
- Maintains clean and neat work areas
- Adheres to company policies and guidelines
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled
- Assumes supervisory duties in managers' absence
- Assists in other store areas as needed
- Ensures competitive pricing
- Performs other related duties and special projects as required
