The Food Service Manager role at Aramark is a management position integral to delivering outstanding dining solutions tailored to meet customer needs and preferences. This position entails overseeing and managing dining operations where customers select prepared foods from a menu, such as cafeteria or residential dining facility settings. As part of the Portfolio Group within the Workplace Experience Group, the Food Service Manager plays a key role in delivering seamless customer experiences that emphasize convenience, consistency, and quality. The role demands a hands-on leader who can motivate and develop team members through Aramark’s coaching model, ensuring performance aligns with client and company objectives.

The Food Service Manager will be responsible for planning and leading daily team briefings, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and fostering a positive, rewarding work environment. They will manage client relationships by identifying client needs and communicating operational progress, ensuring client satisfaction and collaboration. Financial acumen is essential, as the manager will oversee profit and loss statements, uphold financial targets, and educate teams on processes and performance metrics to enhance operational margins.

Operational productivity is a focus area, requiring efficient management of labor and food cost controls, supervising team production quality, and ensuring all team members are properly trained. Compliance with safety, health, wage, and hour regulations is mandatory to maintain a safe working environment for clients, customers, and employees. Additionally, the Food Service Manager will assist the Food Service Director in leading the front of house operations, ensuring a smooth dining experience from food preparation to service delivery.

This salaried position offers a competitive compensation range of $70,000 to $90,000 depending on experience and location. Job Requirements

  • Requires at least 1 year of experience
  • Requires at least 1 year of experience in a management role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in a management role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard service model
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other departments to unite the food service experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by meeting and maintaining food and labor initiatives
  • Ensure entire team is trained and able to implement
  • Supervise team regarding production, quality and control
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees
  • Follow all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour
  • Lead the front of the house of the dining operation in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities to deliver a finished product to the customer
