Sodexo is currently seeking to fill three Food Service Manager 2 positions at the JFK University Medical Center located in Edison, New Jersey. JFK University Medical Center is a 499-bed, non-profit, acute care hospital that operates as a teaching hospital specializing in complex neurological and rehabilitation care. As part of the Hackensack Meridian Health system, JFK University Medical Center is known for its commitment to high standards in patient care and community health services.
In the Food Service Manager 2 role, candidates will lead the daily operations of the food service team to ensure exceptional dining experiences for patients, families, and staff. This position requires a strong leader who can drive innovation in food service delivery, enhance customer satisfaction, and effectively manage team dynamics. Responsibilities include creating innovative and enriching café experiences, overseeing the patient dining program, conducting daily meal rounds with a focus on service recovery, and collaborating with clinical and interdisciplinary teams to elevate the patient dining experience. The role demands attention to food quality, presentation, and tray accuracy, ensuring the highest standards are consistently met.
The Food Service Manager 2 will also manage cash handling and control procedures in accordance with Sodexo policies and concertedly mentor, develop, and retain frontline staff members. Job Duties
- create and deliver innovative and enriching cafe experiences for patients family and staff daily
- evaluate and develop service levels for the overall Patient Services Program targeted to exceed patient and customer satisfaction
- oversee Sodexo’s Patient Dining Program and daily meal rounding inclusive of service recovery
- collaborate with clinical food service and interdisciplinary teams to enhance the patient experience
- perform tray assessments to ensure food quality and presentation and tray accuracy
