The Food Service Manager 2 position at Sodexo is a vital role supporting operations at Fairview Southdale Hospital and several other hospitals within the Twin Cities area. The Food Service Manager 2 ensures that all cash handling and point of sale (POS) processes are managed with precision and compliance. Maintaining food safety standards and physical safety protocols is paramount, as is upholding the integrity of retail branded concept standards both nationally and in-house. Additionally, the manager is responsible for managing vendor relationships, overseeing the implementation of all necessary signage including digital displays, and mentoring frontline staff to build a motivated and skilled team.

The role requires a candidate who possesses strong management skills and the ability to lead and develop a team effectively. Experience in menu planning and an understanding of current culinary trends are important to deliver appealing and nutritious food options. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of management experience
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s license record check
  • Willingness to float between multiple hospital locations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to change
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills

Job Duties

  • Create and deliver innovative and enriching cafe experiences for patients, family and staff daily
  • Oversee cash handling processes, and POS programming and maintenance
  • Ensure food and physical safety programs and standards are followed
  • Maintain integrity of retail branded concept standards (national and in-house brands)
  • Ensure all needed signage (including digital) is in place
  • Manage vendor relationships and compliance
  • Mentor, develop, and retain frontline staff
  • Develop and maintain client and customer relationships
