Job Description
Aramark is a global leader in food service, facilities management, and uniform services, proudly serving millions of guests daily across 15 countries. With a deep-rooted commitment to service and a unified purpose, Aramark aims to make a positive impact not only for its employees and clients but also for the communities and planet it serves. The company believes in nurturing a supportive work environment that promotes equal employment opportunities and fosters professional growth, embracing diversity and inclusion in all aspects of its operations. Aramark offers a dynamic and rewarding career path where talents are developed and passions fueled. This versatile organization thrives on innovation and dedication, ensuring that every team member has the resources and support needed to excel in their role.
The Food Service Manager position at Aramark is a pivotal management role responsible for the successful execution of dining solutions designed to satisfy customer preferences and needs. This role specifically entails overseeing and managing dining operations where customers order prepared food items from a menu. As a Food Service Manager, you will lead the front-of-house dining operations, such as cafeterias or residential dining facilities, working closely with the Food Service Director to ensure seamless service delivery. Your responsibilities will encompass all facets of dining management, including team leadership, client relationship building, financial performance monitoring, productivity enhancement, compliance adherence, and operational excellence.
This role requires a proactive leader who is adept at using Aramark's coaching model to engage and develop team members effectively, rewarding and motivating employees to maximize their potential. The Food Service Manager will also ensure that safety and sanitation standards are strictly upheld, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees alike. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining and analyzing financial statements such as profit and loss reports, aligning operations with both client and company financial targets, and educating teams on crucial performance metrics and cost controls.
Key to success in this role is the ability to foster effective client and customer relationships by identifying needs and communicating operational progress clearly and consistently. The Food Service Manager will also be responsible for planning and directing food service activities to deliver finished products that meet quality and control standards. This role often requires managing operational details such as inventory trends and order systems to optimize profit margin while ensuring adherence to policies and regulations related to safety, health, wage, and hour laws.
The position demands a hands-on approach with involvement in daily briefings and performance evaluations to maintain individual and team objectives. Physical endurance is also required, including the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Opportunities for career development abound within Aramark, where ongoing learning and skill acquisition are encouraged to meet evolving job duties and company commitments. This role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to grow within a reputable and established company that values integrity, service excellence, and community impact.
