With a mission rooted in service and a commitment to doing great things for its employees, partners, communities, and the planet, Aramark is dedicated to fostering a workplace where everyone is valued, respected, and empowered to grow professionally. The company prioritizes equal employment opportunity and inclusivity, ensuring a discrimination-free environment regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender, disability, or other legally protected characteristics. Aramark’s extensive reach and reputation for excellence make it a highly regarded employer for those seeking meaningful and rewarding careers in various sectors including food service and hospitality.
The Food Service Manager role at Aramark is a management position responsible for developing and implementing innovative dining solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs and tastes of customers. This role oversees and manages dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu, ensuring high-quality food service and an exceptional customer experience. As a leader, the Food Service Manager uses Aramark’s coaching model to engage and develop team members, motivating them to perform at their best and fostering a productive, positive work environment. Rewarding and recognizing employees is a key facet of this role, helping reinforce strong team morale and dedication.
The position carries responsibilities tied to leadership, client relationships, financial performance, productivity, compliance, and additional operational duties. The Food Service Manager leads daily team briefings, ensures safety and sanitation standards are rigorously maintained, and works closely with clients to identify their needs and communicate operational progress effectively. Financial stewardship is essential, with oversight of profit and loss statements, delivery of client and company financial targets, and the implementation of Aramark’s systems and processes to manage margins and drive profitability.
Efficiency is paramount in this role; the manager must bring value through effective operations, cost controls, and profit management. They also ensure that food and labor initiatives are met by guiding the team in production, quality control, and operational excellence fundamentals. Compliance with safety, health, wage, and hour regulations is strictly upheld to maintain a safe environment for clients, customers, and employees alike.
An additional key area of responsibility is the leadership of the front of house dining operations, often in conjunction with the Food Service Director. This includes planning, directing, and coordinating food service activities to deliver a finished product that meets high standards and satisfies customer expectations. Aramark recognizes the dynamic nature of the role, noting that duties may change or expand as needed to meet company commitments, highlighting a flexible and adaptable work atmosphere.
This role requires a candidate who possesses strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective client and customer relationships. Candidates should be comfortable with occasional physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Typically, at least one year of experience in a management role is needed, with a preference for candidates holding a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Working as a Food Service Manager at Aramark offers the opportunity to develop new skills, make a meaningful impact, and contribute to a large-scale operation that values innovation, teamwork, and excellence in service.
