The role of Food Service Manager at Price Chopper is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the entire Food Service operation within the store, including the critical Food Court section. This position plays an essential role in ensuring the department meets all budgeted financial objectives and maintains superior product quality and presentation standards. The Food Service Manager's responsibilities include ensuring compliance with both corporate and state sanitation procedures and regulations to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for customers and employees alike. In addition, this management role involves supervising and directing all Food Service personnel, fostering a culture of fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service to delight Price Chopper customers consistently.

As the Food Service Manager, you will be tasked with managing day-to-day operations, including staffing, scheduling, training, and supervising the department team. This requires strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate the team to achieve performance goals. The manager must actively monitor key financial metrics such as payroll, budgeted sales, gross profit, cost to operate (CTO), shrinkage, and inventory levels, to ensure the department operates profitably and efficiently. Merchandising responsibilities include maintaining the proper display of food service products according to corporate planograms and special promotional programs, which requires thorough product knowledge and attention to detail.

Physical demands of the job include exposure to hot and cold environments and significant periods of standing and walking. The position also involves routine manual tasks such as lifting, bending, twisting, and operating various types of food service equipment including fryers, ovens, slicers, and registers. Given the multifaceted responsibilities, this role is suitable for individuals with at least three years of related experience and the ability to manage others effectively while providing excellent customer service.

This is a full-time position with a pay range between $21.75 and $33.25 per hour, reflecting the importance of this leadership role within the company. Job Duties

  • Manage day to day department operations including supervising department staff
  • schedule and staff the department appropriately
  • ensure compliance with federal and state safety and sanitation laws as well as corporate policies
  • hire, train, and develop departmental staff while documenting performance and recommending disciplinary actions
  • enforce company dress code among associates
  • provide fast, friendly, and efficient customer service demonstrating C.H.O.P.S behaviors and adhering to 5S standards
  • understand and comply with corporate code of conduct
  • monitor and control financial results such as payroll, sales, gross profit, CTO, shrink, and inventory levels
  • implement merchandising strategies following corporate planograms and special programs
  • maintain proper shelf and display conditions and stock levels
  • ensure proper rotation of items
  • comply with corporate, federal, and state signing policies and regulations
  • maintain cold case, hot food, and cooling logs as per store policy
  • perform other related duties as assigned and adhere to company policies and procedures
