The Food Service Manager role at Aramark is a pivotal management position responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive dining solutions that address customer needs and preferences. This role oversees dining operations where customers select prepared foods from a menu, ensuring high-quality service delivery and operational excellence. The manager leads the front of house in dining operations, which may include cafeterias and residential dining facilities, working closely with the Food Service Director to coordinate food service activities.
Key responsibilities include using Aramark's coaching model to engage and develop team members, rewarding and recognizing employee achievements, and ensuring that team performance aligns with company and client expectations. The manager plans and leads daily team briefings and upholds safety and sanitation standards. Maintaining strong client relationships by identifying their needs and clearly communicating operational progress is crucial.
Financial management is another critical component of this position. The Food Service Manager ensures completion and maintenance of profit and loss (P&L) statements, delivers on financial targets, and adopts company processes and systems to monitor performance metrics, data, and trends. Training team members on key financial levers for improving margins is an essential duty.
Operational efficiency is driven through cost controls, profit management, and adherence to food and labor initiatives. The manager supervises production quality and control, ensuring the entire team is trained and capable of implementing operational standards. Compliance with applicable laws, policies, and health and safety regulations is mandatory to maintain a safe environment for clients, customers, and employees.
This role requires physical capability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and the ability to stand for extended periods. Successful candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport.
