The Food Service Manager position at Aramark is a vital management role responsible for overseeing dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu. This role is centered around developing and implementing dining solutions tailored to meet customer needs and tastes, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. As a Food Service Manager, you will lead a team using Aramark's coaching model to engage and develop team members to their fullest potential, while also motivating and rewarding employees to achieve individual and collective performance goals.

In this role, the Food Service Manager is the driving force behind creating a seamless and enjoyable dining experience within facilities such as cafeterias or residential dining halls. Responsibilities include managing front-of-house operations alongside the Food Service Director, planning food service activities to ensure high quality and timely delivery of meals, and safeguarding safety, sanitation, and compliance regulations. A strong emphasis is placed on client relationships, where understanding and addressing client needs and communicating operational progress foster trust and long-term partnerships.

Financial performance is another key aspect of this position. The Food Service Manager maintains profit and loss statements, works diligently to meet both client and company financial targets, and implements operational systems designed to improve margins. Mastery of Aramark processes and systems is essential, as well as the ability to interpret performance metrics, data trends, and inventory management to educate and enhance team efficiency. Productivity initiatives focus on efficient operations, cost controls, and profit management, all of which contribute to the overall success of the food service department.

This position requires someone who can supervise production, quality, and control measures while ensuring the entire team is properly trained to uphold operational excellence. Compliance with relevant policies—including health, safety, wage, and hour regulations—is mandatory to maintain a safe environment for clients, customers, and employees alike. Additionally, candidates must be able to perform occasional physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.

Job Requirements

  • Follow all applicable policies, rules and regulations including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour
  • Lead the front of the house of the dining operation in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities to deliver a finished product to the customer
