The Food Service Manager role at Aramark is a pivotal management position responsible for overseeing and managing dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu. This role requires developing and implementing dining solutions that meet customer needs and tastes while ensuring operational excellence. The manager will lead the front-of-house dining operation, collaborating closely with the Food Service Director to deliver exceptional service and a finished product that aligns with company standards and client expectations. You will use Aramark's coaching model to engage and develop team members, foster a positive work environment, and motivate your team to consistently meet objectives.

In this role, you will be accountable for several facets of dining operations including leadership, client relationship management, financial performance, productivity, and compliance. This includes planning and leading daily team briefings, recognizing and rewarding employees, ensuring safety and sanitation standards, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and completion of profit and loss statements, delivering on financial targets, and educating your team on processes, systems, and performance metrics to enhance operational margins. The position demands a keen focus on cost controls, food and labor initiatives, and production quality control. You will supervise team members to ensure every aspect of the dining experience is executed efficiently and effectively.

Job Duties

  • educate teams on key levers to improve margins
  • bring value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management
  • follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by meeting and maintaining food and labor initiatives
  • ensure entire team is trained and able to implement
  • supervise team regarding production, quality and control
  • maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees
  • follow all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour
  • lead the front of the house of the dining operation (cafeteria/residential dining facility) in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities in order to deliver a finished product to the customer
