Job Description
High's is a well-established food service company dedicated to providing fresh, fast, and delicious food options to its customers. Known for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, High's operates in a dynamic retail environment where efficiency, food safety, and excellent service are top priorities. The company has built a reputation for delivering consistent food experiences while maintaining high standards for hygiene and employee training. With a focus on career growth and employee well-being, High's offers competitive benefits including health insurance, paid time off, 401k plans with company match, and tuition reimbursement.
The Food Service Leader (FSL) role at High's is a pivotal position that oversees the day-to-day operations of the food service department. This leadership role involves enforcing recipe and procedural compliance to ensure quality and consistency across all food offerings. The FSL is responsible for product ordering to maintain appropriate inventory levels that meet customer demand without wastage. A significant part of the role includes maintaining food quality assurance through regular checks and adherence to safety standards. Employee training and development are key responsibilities, aimed at equipping the food service team with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles while following company programs and policies. Additionally, the FSL ensures that all sanitation requirements are rigorously observed, maintaining clean and organized food storage and service areas including walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
This position requires a flexible individual who can work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a fast-paced retail environment. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Leadership qualities are essential since the FSL supports the Store Manager with scheduling and ensures that the food service station is covered adequately during all operational hours. The FSL will also assist in launching new food programs, products, limited-time offers, and promotions as directed by the Food Service Department.
High's is committed to training and certification programs for its food service leaders, making this role an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking career advancement within the food service and retail sectors. The FSL will undergo comprehensive training including equipment operation, food safety (S.U.R.E certification), leadership development, and classroom modules designed to enhance food service excellence. Mastery of these responsibilities is crucial for those aiming to progress to assistant store manager positions, especially in high-volume locations. The work environment involves standing for prolonged periods, handling merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds, and working under various temperature conditions with potential exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Overall, High's Food Service Leader role offers a challenging yet rewarding career path for motivated individuals passionate about food service operations, team leadership, and customer satisfaction. With competitive pay and a robust benefits package, High's provides a supportive workplace where employees can thrive and grow professionally. If you are ready to take on a leadership role that combines operational excellence with opportunities for advancement, High's invites you to apply and join their team of dedicated food service professionals.
