Job Description

Cumberland Farms is a well-established convenience store chain renowned for its commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service. Operating across numerous locations, Cumberland Farms blends the warmth and familiarity of a neighborhood store with the convenience and efficiency expected by today’s consumers. The company embraces diversity and inclusion, valuing employees who bring unique perspectives and a passion for delivering outstanding results. Cumberland Farms strives to maintain a thriving work environment where team members feel engaged, supported, and empowered to contribute meaningfully. This role offers a unique opportunity within the food operations sector of the company, ideal for individuals who are energetic, personable, and eager to take on a leadership role.

The Food Service Supervisor position at Cumberland Farms is designed for those who love working in a fast-paced food service environment and excel at managing both people and processes. This role centers on assisting with the management of the store’s food business operations, ensuring that guests receive high-quality food quickly and efficiently. The supervisor will contribute significantly to maintaining food safety standards, ensuring proper presentation of food items, and guiding team members to deliver an exceptional customer experience consistently. A vital component of the role is supporting the Store Manager or Brand Manager in driving company goals related to food sales, such as pizza, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee.

In addition to overseeing the preparation and presentation of hot and cold food items, the Food Service Supervisor is responsible for managing food stock levels, controlling costs, minimizing waste, and enforcing sanitation procedures based on standardized food safety protocols. The position demands strong organizational skills to maintain the cleanliness of the food service area and proper equipment maintenance. It involves close collaboration with third-party vendors to uphold food safety measures including monitoring temperatures and waste processes.

The supervisor also fosters a positive, team-oriented working atmosphere by providing coaching, training, and constructive feedback to team members. This leadership approach helps ensure that all staff understand and comply with food safety and preparation standards. Customer interaction plays a crucial role in this position; greeting guests warmly and processing transactions efficiently are key duties in ensuring a smooth and pleasant shopping experience.

This role is available as both part-time (up to 29 hours) and full-time (32-40 hours), with flexible scheduling to accommodate various shifts including day, night, weekends, and holidays — reflecting the 24-hour operational nature of some Cumberland Farms locations. The position requires physical stamina for tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and working in varying temperatures including cold storage areas.

Cumberland Farms values pay transparency and offers a base salary range that reflects the skills, experience, and qualifications of its employees. Beyond monetary compensation, the company provides an attractive total rewards package that supports overall career development, well-being, and financial security. Candidates with a passion for food service, leadership, and team collaboration will find this an exciting and rewarding opportunity to grow within a respected and fast-paced food retail environment.
