The role of Kitchen Supervisor at SSA is pivotal to upholding the company’s 452 Hospitality standard. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager or Restaurant Manager, the Kitchen Supervisor is entrusted with maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and guest service within the kitchen and back-of-house (BOH) operations. This role requires a hands-on leader who is committed to ensuring every dish and every interaction contribute to a warm and welcoming guest experience. The Kitchen Supervisor oversees daily kitchen prep, staffing, safety protocols, and operational workflows while fostering a supportive environment for team members through coaching, training, and performance management.

This position is designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values team building, problem-solving, and operational excellence. The Kitchen Supervisor plays a key role in managing personnel including training new employees, conducting performance reviews, and addressing attendance or payroll issues, all with the objective of seamless daily restaurant operations. In addition, the supervisor maintains cleanliness, safety, and organizational standards, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Job Duties

  • Live out 452 Hospitality by delivering warm, welcoming, and memorable experiences for every guest and client
  • Ensure restaurant is adequately prepped and staffed (BOH) for daily operation
  • Oversight of location kitchen duties, ensuring quickservice, food service, safety and quality, availability, merchandising, and guest service standards are all met and exceeded
  • Oversight of safety logs, including food temperatures, rotation, and waste
  • Ensure proper uniform, hygiene, handwashing, and glove use with staff
  • Support SSAfety training with knife handling skills, ensuring all direct reports display proper use of knives and slicers
  • Create daily prep and item lists, delegating to employees as necessary
  • Actively help to support operations and fill holes as necessary to ensure smooth service
  • Maintain a checklist of routine or daily cleaning tasks and ongoing projects or menu planning
  • Assign associates to duties, coaching through projects, daily tasks, and guest interaction
  • Actively and efficiently respond to guest and client feedback, reporting to the operations manager to mitigate further complaints
  • Oversee personnel duties including training new employees, issuing performance reviews, managing progressive documentation with oversight from the operations manager, reporting employee attendance and payroll discrepancies, and overseeing breaks and rest periods
  • Inspect equipment and perform routine maintenance and cleaning as necessary
  • Assist the team to ensure all tasks are completed timely by helping complete daily tasks
  • Communicate with the Executive Chef and Food Service Operations Manager about any issues with daily service or quality
  • Work directly with restaurant supervisor(s) to ensure locations operate to standard
  • Remain knowledgeable of and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws
  • Perform other tasks as deemed necessary
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Uphold and demonstrate complete understanding of company policies and procedures
