In this role, the worker is expected to engage with students, school staff, and the broader community with honesty, respect, and professionalism. They will be trained continuously through state-approved educational programs focusing on school food service foundations, nutrition, quantity cooking, and sanitation procedures. The role also includes participating in inventory management, food ordering, and operating point-of-sale systems per federal meal program guidelines. Physical demands require medium strength, including lifting up to 30 pounds and performing various manual tasks. Successful candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, basic computer literacy, and the ability to follow written instructions precisely. - Prior food service or cashier work experience
- Ability to follow directions, read, and communicate in English
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, school administrators and other Food and Nutrition service-related personnel
- Computer skills as required for the position

Job Duties
- Follow daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning
- Participate in on-going state-approved training and educational initiatives related to Food and Nutrition Services
- Demonstrate and promote exceptional customer service using good judgment and professionalism
- Operate point-of-sale systems according to federal guidelines when assigned
- Adhere to food safety rules, departmental procedures, and HACCP standards
- Perform kitchen duties including pre-preparation, food production, service, cleaning, and order check-in
- Assist with ordering, proper storage, and inventories of supplies and food items
