The Food Service Worker role at Propel Braddock Hills is an essential position responsible for ensuring that students receive nutritious and appealing meals in a timely and safe manner. Situated in Pittsburgh, PA, this full-time position is available immediately, offering a competitive hourly rate of $15. The worker will operate within a supportive team environment under the guidance of the Director of Food Services to prepare, assemble, and serve meals while adhering to strict food safety and sanitation protocols. Key responsibilities include managing food preparation and service, maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and dining areas, accurately handling transactions, and monitoring inventory supplies. Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED required or 1 year experience in lieu of high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to use Food Service equipment
  • Prior food service experience preferred
  • Must possess ability to accurately count and perform basic mathematical functions
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to successfully complete Food Service duties
  • Basic knowledge of computer software
  • Excellent customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Accurately register all sales while maintaining security of all monies in and around the cash registers
  • Notify supervisor or manager of any portion discrepancies immediately
  • Perform routine temperature sanitization assessments in accordance with department procedures and health department guidelines
  • Perform routine duties including sweeping and sanitizing cafeteria, kitchen and appliances, oven, counter tops, carts, and tables
  • Sanitize work areas in accordance with department procedures and health department guidelines
  • Proper preparation of fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Maintain food safety and quality while practicing proper food handling techniques
  • Accept, process, and prepare field trip orders
  • Receive, check, and stock delivery inventory
  • Track, record, and report student count summary and production reports
  • Run daily sales and activity reports
  • Adhere to hand hygiene and infection control procedures consistently when interacting with customers
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills consistently
  • Responsible for dropping cash deposits to the bank weekly
  • Comply with all school and department policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
