Within Target, the Food & Beverage team plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest shopping experience by maintaining product quality, ensuring inventory accuracy, and providing excellent customer service. This team oversees all food services, including replenishment, food safety compliance, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes specific to the Food & Beverage sections of the store. The Food Service Expert position is an hourly role starting at $20.00 USD per hour and involves engaging directly with guests to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly shopping environment. Duties include greeting customers warmly, helping them find what they need, ensuring product freshness and availability, adhering to food safety and OSHA guidelines, monitoring sales to optimize product production, and maintaining a clean and inviting food service area. This role also requires teamwork, flexibility, and a dedication to maintaining both Food & Beverage and Pizza Hut (where applicable) brand standards.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
physical ability to climb ladders and lift up to 44 pounds
ability to work in varying temperature environments including refrigeration and freezer conditions
ability to stand and remain mobile throughout the entire shift
willingness to comply with all safety policies, best practices and training
capability to interpret instructions, reports and information
ability to handle cash register operations as needed
access all areas of the building to respond to issues
ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members
commitment to upholding ethical conduct and compliance standards

Job Qualifications

Strong interest and knowledge of the food service business
previous food or grocery experience preferred but not required
welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
ability to communicate via multiple devices and operate handheld scanners
ability to work independently and as part of a team
ability to resolve guest questions quickly
attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes

Job Duties

Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by delivering on guest service commitments
greet guests warmly and initiate helpful interactions
help guests find products and resolve issues to ensure smooth shopping
maintain Food & Beverage and Pizza Hut brand standards
execute food deliveries, replenishment, and stocking routines
produce, package, and label food items according to specifications
maintain cleanliness and organization in the food service area
make sales floor merchandise display changes as directed
monitor and record all cleaning tasks
follow food safety requirements including temperature monitoring
use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products
complete related Pizza Hut training and certifications
demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
work safely and report hazards as needed
support guest services such as backup cashier and order pickup
comply with all laws and store policies while performing duties
perform any other duties as required by business needs
