The Food Service Expo plays a vital role in the smooth operation of any dining establishment by acting as the crucial link between the kitchen and the front-of-house staff. As a pivotal member of the food service team, the Food Service Expo is responsible for ensuring that kitchen orders are prepared accurately and delivered in a timely fashion to maintain the highest standards of service quality and customer satisfaction. This role is especially important in busy restaurant environments where coordination and communication between servers, kitchen personnel, and customers must be seamless to provide an exceptional dining experience.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Communicates orders and information between the front of the house and back of the house and ensures that food is cooked in the right order and quickly
  • Ensures all orders for a table are ready at the same time
  • Checks orders for accuracy and communicates with kitchen staff to ensure any special orders are met
  • Ensures servers are running food to tables in a timely manner once the food is ready
  • Maintains a clean and safe facility
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe facility
  • Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key or significant issues or concerns
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment for oneself, co-workers and the public
  • Responds to hazardous situations and potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action and promptly notifying supervisory personnel
  • Performs related duties as assigned or apparent
