Job Description

Banner Staffing Services (BSS) operates within the larger Banner Health system, one of the leading healthcare providers in the United States. Located in Sun City, Arizona, Banner Staffing Services offers Registry and Per Diem opportunities across various departments within Banner Health facilities. This particular role is based in the Facilities, Environmental Services, and Culinary department and is offered as a PRN (pro re nata or as needed) position with day shift hours, typically from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. As a member of the Banner Health food service team, the position involves transporting food safely and efficiently between main kitchens, assigned facilities, and other locations within the service area. You will be critical to delivering nutritious meals to homebound seniors in Sun City, Sun City West, and Surprise, Arizona, while also performing essential vehicle maintenance to keep transportation running smoothly.

The role extends beyond simple delivery duties; it is an opportunity to brighten the days of vulnerable community members through friendly interaction and wellness checks. The position requires a compassionate customer service approach, attention to detail, and adherence to food safety and Health Department standards. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record
Ability to operate company-owned vehicle
Ability to learn and follow policies and procedures
Ability to communicate effectively
Customer service skills
Ability to learn food handling regulations
Must pass certification tests as required
Must pass post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check including employment, criminal and education
Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card if working at Olive Branch Senior Center

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Transports food safely and efficiently between various facilities following appropriate safety and Health Department policies
Delivers food to various facilities and assists in putting the delivery away
Picks up materials such as vendor invoices, cashier forms, and other items from assigned facilities and businesses
Inspects vehicle daily and ensures it is in good running condition with scheduled maintenance completed
Maintains accurate log of vehicle runs and all other vehicle activity
Cleans and sanitizes dishes, flatware, trays, cups, glasses, cooking utensils, designated equipment and kitchen areas
May deliver meals and nourishments, return excess nourishments, and assist in catering or special event service
Handles transactions at cash register and/or café if applicable
Sets up work station and prepares assigned foods and nourishments following procedures and food quality standards
Interacts with food service personnel, hospital staff, patients and families providing excellent customer service and maintaining sanitation standards
Follows instructions and guidelines for cleaning chemical use and works in physical contact with them
