The role of Food Service Director at Summit in Albuquerque, NM, is a full-time, onsite position within the Corrections segment. This position calls for a motivated and effective leader to manage all aspects of the food service department. The Food Service Director will oversee a talented team of food service associates, ensuring that meals are delivered promptly and meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sanitation. This role includes responsibilities such as managing budgets, purchasing ingredients, maintaining compliance with regulations, and collaborating with district managers and other departments to address technical and administrative aspects of dining service. The position is non-exempt and compensated on an hourly basis, with an offered salary range of $24-26 per hour.

Job Requirements

  • At least two years of experience coordinating food service operations
  • Previous experience with industrial cooking
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite applications

Job Duties

  • Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources
  • Manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees
  • Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations
  • Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts
  • Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service
  • Addressing customer service needs
