The Food Service Director position at Aramark is a dynamic management role based in the Northern New Jersey region. This floating/bench role requires the director to develop and execute comprehensive dining solutions that align with customer needs and preferences. The Food Service Director oversees dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu, ensuring high-quality service and operational excellence. This position demands strong leadership skills to mentor and engage teams effectively, promoting ongoing staff development through recruiting, training, coaching, and performance management.

Key responsibilities include ensuring that food service operations align with Aramark’s Executional Framework, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and building strong client relationships by identifying needs and communicating progress effectively. Financial oversight is crucial, involving budget management, cost control of food, beverage and labor, and maintaining profit and loss statements. The director will also implement productivity improvements, ensure compliance with operational excellence fundamentals, and coordinate the production, distribution, and service of food.

Maintaining compliance with all policies, safety regulations, and health standards is essential, as is fostering a safe, healthy environment for employees, clients, and customers. The Food Service Director will establish robust systems for food ordering, receiving, storage, preparation, and service, as well as menu planning and development. Engaging with client management, handling inventory, and supporting sales process and contract negotiations are also part of the role. This position requires more than 50% travel.

The compensation for this role ranges from $85,000 to $100,000 annually, according to Aramark’s estimate at the time of posting. Job Requirements

  • Requires at least 4 years of experience
  • Requires at least 1-3 years of management experience
  • Must have previous experience in food service
  • Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Ability to maintain effective client and customer relations
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lb occasionally
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods

Job Qualifications
