Job Description

Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is a leading provider of dining services to healthcare and senior care facilities across the United States. With a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality food service programs, HCSG is passionate about positively impacting the communities it serves by improving the dining experience for patients, residents, and staff in a variety of care settings. As a company dedicated to excellence, HCSG offers a supportive work environment, comprehensive benefits, and ample opportunities for career growth. The organization values inclusion and diversity and fosters a culture where employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to the workplace. HCSG operates nationwide and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws to ensure fair and equal employment opportunities for all.

The role of Food Service Director (also known as Dining Services Director) at HCSG is an essential leadership position that involves managing the dining services department at a long-term care facility. As the Food Service Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food service program, ensuring that it meets strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards while enhancing the customer and resident experience. This is a hands-on role that requires not only strong management skills but also direct involvement in inventory control, staff training, food safety compliance, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in quantity food production and personnel supervision, and will be capable of motivating and leading a team to achieve excellence in all operational areas.

This role requires adherence to facility menus and all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including HCSG’s internal policies. You will maintain accurate records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG’s proprietary computer software. Additionally, you may perform tasks typically associated with dietary aides, cooks, and dishwashers when necessary, illustrating the flexible and team-oriented nature of this position. Effective communication with client managers, building occupants, administrators, and HCSG staff is critical to successful operations.

The Food Service Director will also be expected to lead staff training programs, quality control initiatives, and in-service sessions to maintain a safe and sanitary environment. Compliance with infection control protocols, universal precautions, and proper handwashing procedures is essential. This role demands consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability to support seamless dining services. Representing HCSG positively through courteous and cooperative interaction with supervisors, co-workers, clients, residents, and guests is a key component of the job.

This position offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, telemedicine services from day one, paid holidays and vacation, 401(k) participation, financial wellness support, employee assistance programs, training and development opportunities, and more. HCSG encourages candidates who are motivated by leadership and passionate about enhancing dining experiences to apply and make a meaningful difference in the communities they serve.
