We are currently seeking a motivated and effective Food Service Director to join our Corrections team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This is a full-time, onsite role where you will lead and manage a dedicated team of food service associates responsible for ensuring that every meal is served efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. As the Food Service Director, you will oversee all functions of the food service department, including staff management, budgeting, purchasing, and compliance with culinary, safety, and sanitation regulations.

This position requires someone who can successfully balance operational responsibilities with team leadership and customer service excellence. You will be responsible for hiring, training, and developing associates while maintaining a focus on delivering outstanding client and customer satisfaction. In addition, you will manage departmental budgets, monitor inventory, and coordinate with district managers and other departments on technical and administrative dining service matters. The role offers an annual salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Requirements

  • At least two years of experience coordinating food service operations
  • previous experience with industrial cooking
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services
  • experience with Microsoft Office suite applications

Job Duties

  • Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources
  • manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees
  • ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations
  • budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts
  • conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service
