The Food Service Director position at Aramark Healthcare+ is a critical leadership role focused primarily on patient services within healthcare facilities. This role involves planning, administering, and directing all activities related to patient food service operations. The Food Service Director ensures compliance with standards established by Aramark Healthcare+, regulatory agencies, and respective clients while managing financial accountability and resource control. This position plays a vital role in directing the patient feeding process, guaranteeing quality assurance, and continuously improving patient satisfaction scores. Furthermore, the director fosters strong collaborative relationships with nursing staff and other departments to provide a seamless food service experience for patients, residents, visitors, and employees.

Key responsibilities include overseeing and participating in the execution of nutrition and patient communication strategies across multi-site components or complex healthcare settings. The director also creates and manages a network of thought leaders to enhance nutrition programs and supports patient-related initiatives directly impacting their well-being. Managing the entire patient food service process, from meal preparation and delivery to the dining experience, is another major component of this role. The director leads teams including patient service managers, supervisors, and staff, ensuring meals meet high standards and are timely delivered to patients.

Additionally, the Food Service Director owns programs like the Adopt a Floor program to conduct regular rounding on patients and departments, ensuring that patient needs and feedback are continuously monitored and addressed. This role also oversees the diet office and the service ambassador program while ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills capable of motivating and managing a large workforce with proficiency in Microsoft Office. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in food service management is required, with an emphasis on healthcare food service experience preferred. Job Duties

  • Participate in planning and executing consistent nutrition and patient communications and strategies and serve as a nutrition/patient resource across a multi-site component or highly complex healthcare facility
  • Create and manage a network of thought leaders to support nutrition issues and strategies across the component
  • Manage and control resources and materials to ensure quality, adequacy of supply, and cost control within budgetary guidelines
  • Directs patient food service activities, complying with established standards including the patient feeding program and delivery of trays to patient units
  • Leads patient service managers, supervisors and staff to ensure meals are properly prepared and delivered to patients
  • Owns the 'Adopt a Floor' program and ensures rounding is conducted on patients/departments
  • Oversees the diet office and the service ambassador program
  • Records safety and sanitation compliance
