This full-time, onsite position as Food Service Director based in Minocqua, Wisconsin, is a critical leadership role within the Education segment of Elior School Dining. The Food Service Director plays a pivotal role in managing all facets of the food service department, ensuring that students, faculty, and school clients consistently receive timely and nutritious meals. The role involves leading a talented team of food service associates, overseeing hiring and training efforts, and maintaining rigorous culinary, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with applicable regulations. A key aspect of the position is financial stewardship, including budgeting and purchasing responsibilities to meet departmental targets effectively. The Food Service Director will collaborate closely with the district manager and other departments to align dining services with broader organizational goals. Job Requirements

  • At least two years of experience coordinating food service operations
  • At least three years of previous experience with industrial cooking
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and budgets
  • Ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite applications

Job Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and budgets

  • Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Previous experience in K-12 food service operations under NSLP
  • Previous experience in food service contract management
  • Culinary or bachelors degree
  • Serv Safe and/or HACCP certification

Job Duties

  • Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources
  • Manage and lead a team of associates including hiring and training new employees
  • Ensuring that staff meet all culinary safety and sanitation standards and regulations
  • Budgeting for the department including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts
  • Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service
