Within the Workplace Experience Group under Aramark, The Portfolio Group plays a pivotal role in delivering seamless experiences across various business environments—from breakrooms to boardrooms. This team builds strategic partnerships tailored to each client’s unique needs, ensuring convenience, consistency, and excellence in service delivery. The Food Service Director is a key management position within this group, responsible for overseeing and managing dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu. This role requires a strategic leader capable of developing and executing dining solutions that align perfectly with client needs and preferences. The Food Service Director leads teams to excel in providing high-quality food, excellent customer service, and operational efficiency while managing financial performance and compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

The Director ensures alignment with Aramark’s Executional Framework and fosters a culture of safety and excellence across all food service operations. A critical aspect of the role is maintaining strong client relationships by understanding needs and communicating progress effectively.
Financial oversight is a major component, including budget management, cost controls related to food, beverage, and labor, and overseeing P&L statements to meet established targets. The Director drives productivity through efficient resource management, implementation of operational excellence fundamentals, and maximizing profitability while maintaining high service standards.
Additionally, the Food Service Director is responsible for compliance with all policies, safety regulations, and health standards to create a safe environment for all stakeholders. The role also includes managing inventory, coordinating personnel, and exploring opportunities to introduce new products or services to support sales growth and client retention. This position may also involve participation in the sales process and contract negotiation to further business objectives.
In managing the front of the house operations such as cafeterias or residential dining facilities, the Director develops food service plans that align with client missions and incorporate sustainable practices. Aramark values adaptability and ongoing professional development, encouraging its employees to learn and grow continuously while making a positive impact.
Overall, the Food Service Director role at Aramark is dynamic and rewarding, offering opportunities to lead innovative food service programs, foster strong teams, and drive successful client partnerships in a supportive, diverse, and forward-thinking environment.
