Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food service or cooking required
- knowledge of food safety standards
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- good communication skills
- physical capability for kitchen work including lifting and extended standing
- willingness to adhere to company safety policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- experience as a cook or in a related food preparation role
- knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
- understanding of food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
- ability to obtain food safety certification
- basic math and counting skills
- effective interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
Job Duties
- prepare food items according to established production guidelines and standardized recipes
- organize work area with necessary equipment and ingredients
- measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items for ingredient preparation
- handle utensils and kitchen equipment safely
- operate ovens, cooking appliances, slicing tools, and mixing devices
- apply various cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare diverse foods
- ensure accurate portioning and presentation of food
- adhere to food safety protocols for storage
- sterilize and clean workspaces, equipment, and tools
- provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude
- follow Aramark's safety policies especially regarding food safety and sanitation
- protect company property
