Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service or cooking required
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • good communication skills
  • physical capability for kitchen work including lifting and extended standing
  • willingness to adhere to company safety policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • experience as a cook or in a related food preparation role
  • knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • effective interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • prepare food items according to established production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • organize work area with necessary equipment and ingredients
  • measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items for ingredient preparation
  • handle utensils and kitchen equipment safely
  • operate ovens, cooking appliances, slicing tools, and mixing devices
  • apply various cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare diverse foods
  • ensure accurate portioning and presentation of food
  • adhere to food safety protocols for storage
  • sterilize and clean workspaces, equipment, and tools
  • provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude
  • follow Aramark's safety policies especially regarding food safety and sanitation
  • protect company property
