The role of Food Service Associate/Deli Clerk at Global Partners is a dynamic position central to maintaining the quality and operational excellence of the store's deli and food service area. This role is integral to delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring the freshness, presentation, and safety of food items. The Food Service Associate manages daily food service operations including preparing, wrapping, slicing, weighing, and displaying deli products in compliance with company standards and health regulations. In addition to food preparation, the associate will operate cash registers and various equipment such as scales, scanners, and debit/credit terminals, ensuring smooth transaction processes. The position demands a high level of attention to detail regarding product pricing, signage, and inventory rotation to uphold product quality and compliance.

Candidates in this role are expected to demonstrate strong customer service skills by taking guest orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring satisfaction with the final product and service. The environment requires working safely with sharp tools like slicers and knives, as well as operating ovens, fryers, and other kitchen machinery. The Food Service Associate must maintain a clean and organized work area aligning with sanitation standards and store appearance requirements. This is an active, hands-on job that involves lifting up to 25 pounds, working in various temperature conditions including walk-in coolers and freezers, and standing for extended periods.

  • dexterity to use equipment such as knives slicers ovens fryers and rotisseries
  • two years foodservice or retail management experience
  • serv-safe certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Process cash register transactions giving back change and refunds
  • learn to use register scales scanners and debit/credit terminals
  • learn to use UPC codes store signage and memorize various register keys and codes
  • read UPC codes product labels shelf signage register forms and posted company policies/procedures
  • learn and work with deli ingredients including various meat items vegetables fruits spices nuts flavorings sauces and oils
  • use scale printer machines ensuring weights and pricing are correct
  • monitor product pricing signage and placement including use of product shelf tags and shelf signage
  • keep a clean neat and orderly check stand sales counter and production areas
  • prepare wrap box weigh slice and stock deli/food service products rotating them to ensure quality and safety
  • prepare and cook deli and food service items including fried foods salads sandwiches roller grill items hot and cold beverages prepared meals and snacks
  • work safely around slicers tools hot ovens and burners
  • display products following department and merchandising guidelines
  • take guest orders ensuring completion on time and satisfaction
  • perform other duties assigned by Store Manager
