The Assistant Food Service Manager plays a crucial role within the Guest Services team by assisting the Unit Manager in managing all aspects of the unit's operations and floor management. This position focuses on overseeing food, beverage, equipment, and company initiatives to ensure smooth and efficient unit functioning. The Assistant Manager is instrumental in creating a team environment that delivers exceptional customer service. By supporting the General Manager, the Assistant Manager ensures that all staff members perform consistently at a high level, contributing to the overall success of the unit. This role involves planning and developing daily operations, forecasting and analyzing sales, labor, and profit, as well as managing compliance with budgets and operational standards.

Essential duties include recruiting, supervising, training, scheduling, and disciplining staff members, as well as maintaining accounting records, daily reporting, and cash control. The Assistant Food Service Manager is also responsible for responding promptly to customer inquiries and resolving complaints to maintain high satisfaction levels. Maintaining a safe and clean facility environment is critical, including overseeing equipment maintenance, food production and handling, sanitation, employee hygiene, and cash controls. The Assistant Manager also represents the company professionally in all interactions with clients, guests, associates, and vendors. This role requires physical stamina to perform job duties in a fast-paced environment that often involves standing for the entire workday, moving about frequently, lifting and carrying substantial weights, and withstanding temperature extremes.

The position offers an annual compensation of $60,000, reflecting the responsibility and impact the role has on the operational success of the unit. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1-2 years management experience required
  • Food Safety Certification preferred
  • Ability to stand for entire workday
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to work in temperature extremes
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Physical presence required at job site
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Bachelor’s or business degree preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of related management experience required
  • Food Safety Certification a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with a wide variety of people

Job Duties

  • Receive direction from the Unit Manager and assist in overall management of unit operations including planning and developing daily operations

  • Notify Unit Manager of unusual events or safety issues

  • Perform unit opening and closing procedures
