The role of Assistant Food Service Manager with Guest Services is an integral part of the company’s operational team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional customer experiences within the food service unit. This position supports the Unit Manager in managing all aspects of unit operations including food and beverage services, equipment upkeep, and implementation of company initiatives. The Assistant Food Service Manager helps foster a team-oriented environment that prioritizes customer service excellence and consistency in staff performance. This role requires direct involvement in planning daily operations, forecasting sales and labor needs, managing profit margins, scheduling, supervising staff, and ensuring adherence to budgets and policies. The Assistant Food Service Manager also plays a key role in human resources functions such as recruiting, training, evaluating, and disciplining employees.
In addition, this role is responsible for maintaining stringent standards related to safety, sanitation, and food handling. It requires addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints efficiently to uphold the company’s reputation for professionalism. The job involves physical responsibilities including frequent movement within the work area, lifting and carrying weights up to 50 pounds, and working in various temperature environments such as freezers and grills. The position also demands clear verbal communication and presence on-site to coordinate operations effectively. Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Receive direction from the Unit Manager and assist in overall management of unit operations including planning and developing daily operations
- forecast and analyze sales, labor, and profit
- ensure compliance with established budget
- schedule, supervise, and participate in operational duties
- Assist in recruiting, supervising, training, scheduling, disciplining, reviewing, and directing the unit’s staff
- Maintain accounting records, daily reporting requirements, and cash control
- Assist in managing P&L statement
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve customer complaints
- Maintain and ensure safe facility environment including standards for equipment, food production and handling, cooking, housekeeping, sanitation, dress, cash control, and hygiene
- Notify Unit Manager of unusual events or safety issues
- Represent company professionally
- perform unit opening and closing procedures
