Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to read and write English
- good oral and written communication skills
- physical ability to perform medium work including lifting up to 35 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
- ability to stand and walk extensively
- ability to bend, lift, and grasp as required
- comply with safety and sanitation standards
- work variable shifts
- maintain effective communication with coworkers and staff
- ability to follow instructions accurately
- physical presence onsite
Job Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent preferred
- ability to read and write, speak and understand English (oral and written) and follow oral and written instructions
- ServSafe class with a minimum score of 75% is preferred, but not required
- vision and hearing normal or corrected to normal
- no previous experience required
Job Duties
- Request and conserve food and supplies necessary to perform assigned duties
- assist in the preparation of a variety of simple food products in accordance with standardized recipes, policies, and procedures
- operate a variety of food service equipment including choppers, blenders, dish-machines
- portion food and assemble meals following menus, policies and procedures, and customer requests
- serve food trays and/or food items to patients/customers
- clean food service areas and equipment, utensils, etc. as scheduled or assigned
- maintain temperature, production, cleaning, and other records as assigned and take action as required by policy
- perform clerical duties related to the recording, processing, assembly and distribution of patient diet orders, menus, and food production records
- transport and retrieve patient food carts as required
- work variable shifts as required
- adhere to all DCH Health System and Nutritional Services policies and procedures
- obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef/Sous Chef
- complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
- taste completed meals to ensure quality
- assure compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe, and safety requirements
