With a commitment to excellence in early childhood education, Bezos Academy offers children a safe, supportive, and enriching environment that fosters growth, curiosity, and independence. Founded with a mission to provide access to quality education regardless of socio-economic status, the Academy emphasizes hands-on learning, social-emotional development, and individualized attention. The institution prides itself on its dedicated staff, evidence-based curriculum, and community involvement, making it a trusted name in early childhood education in the Denton, TX area and beyond.
We are currently hiring a full-time Food Service Assistant for our new Denton preschool location, with an expected start date of August 2026. This role is essential in providing nutritious, CACFP-compliant meals ensuring students receive balanced and safe nutrition daily. The Food Service Assistant will manage all aspects of food preparation, ordering, and service with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to USDA, Bezos Academy policies, and local childcare regulations. This position offers a salary range from $21 to $31 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, and is benefits-eligible including health, dental, and vision insurance among others.
In this role, you will assume full ownership of kitchen operations at the school, managing inventory, placing orders, ensuring compliance with strict food safety protocols, and preparing meals adjusted for dietary restrictions such as allergies and cultural considerations. You will also assist with classroom support and various operational tasks beyond food service, including laundry, inventory checks, and direct supervision of children when needed. The position is non-exempt and hourly with work hours generally between 8 am and 5:30 pm, totaling 40 hours per week. You will be a vital member of the school team, supporting a nurturing and effective preschool environment aimed at cultivating young learners' growth and well-being.
Bezos Academy values a collaborative work culture where respect, continuous learning, and inclusivity are key. The Food Service Assistant plays a crucial part in maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment that meets the highest standards of early childhood nutrition and care. This position offers ample opportunities to develop your skills within a well-established educational framework while making a meaningful impact on children’s lives. If you have experience in institutional food service with a passion for supporting early childhood education, this role offers both professional growth and the gratification of contributing to a community-focused educational institution.
