Job Requirements

  • Will train on the job
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to present information effectively to patients, families, and associates
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to apply common sense in following instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems and offer solutions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Previous food service experience preferred
  • High school graduate or GED preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations

Job Duties

  • Takes patients menu selections prior to each meal respecting dietary restrictions and preferences
  • Communicates and practices patient safety goals and patient confidentiality
  • Assists with daily cleaning operations including dish room duties and sanitation
  • Maintains a pleasant and helpful attitude toward employees, physicians, patients, and visitors
  • Merchandises, portions, and serves food and meals as directed
  • Operates cash register and collects money for food sold in retail services
  • Maintains records, logs, and reports as assigned
