Job Duties

  • Works quickly, efficiently and accurately when preparing and serving food for patients, cafeteria or special functions
  • works in a timely manner to ensure timeliness and punctuality of trayline and cafeteria openings
  • stores and handles food and dishes in a safe and sanitary manner in accordance with health regulations
  • prepares assigned food items, ensuring high quality
  • follows directions, recipes, and HACCP guidelines
  • works as a team with all cooks
  • records temperatures accurately, as assigned
  • completes prep work as assigned and checks to see that needed items are available for the following day
  • keeps work area and equipment clean, following all departmental and equipment guidelines and using correct procedures
  • communicates essential information to others, such as telephone messages, back-up needs, and watching ovens in a timely manner
  • demonstrates teamwork and the spirit of cooperation at all times
  • volunteers to assist others
  • willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested
  • maintains accurate and timely inventory within assigned responsibility
  • utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably
  • manages time efficiently and is always contributing while on the job
