The Food Server role at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel is critical to ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience within a fine dining atmosphere. This position involves direct interaction with patrons, taking and delivering orders efficiently, and maintaining cleanliness and organization to uphold the facility’s standards. The Food Server acts as an ambassador for the establishment during events, adhering to event leadership instructions to guarantee guests receive attentive and professional service. Working in a fast-paced environment such as this requires excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility with scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays, and a commitment to safety and responsible alcohol service. The role encompasses duties such as managing point of sale orders, coordinating with kitchen and bar staff, pre-busing and polishing tableware, and ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all guests and staff. Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Prior fine dining or high-volume hospitality experience preferred
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service
- Must be able to carry trays and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to use point of sale equipment
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
- Maintain confidentiality and security of information
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fine dining experience preferably in a high-volume casino steakhouse
- Knowledge of wines, alcohol, and basic food knowledge
- Prior work experience of at least 6 months
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and nights
Job Duties
- Take orders from patrons and return these orders in a timely manner
- Keep the area in a clean and orderly manner
- Perform responsible alcohol service with regard to patron limitations
- Carry serving trays full of dinner plates
- Ensure the safety and security of employees and guests
- Bus tables in a timely manner to accommodate new business
- Follow instructions from events leadership to ensure guest satisfaction
