Job Description

Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel is a premier entertainment destination located in the bustling area of Oak Grove, Kentucky. Positioned strategically across the street from the large Army post Ft. Campbell and just 10 miles from Clarksville, TN, as well as less than 60 miles northwest of downtown Nashville, TN, this facility enjoys a high volume of foot traffic and is designed to offer a dynamic range of gaming, dining, and lodging experiences. The Property is part of the prestigious Churchill Downs Incorporated, a company well-known for its commitment to excellence and hospitality. As a relatively new facility, Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel combines modern amenities with a vibrant atmosphere, catering to both local residents and visitors, including military personnel from the nearby army post.

The Food Server role at Oak Grove is a crucial position that ensures every guest receives a memorable dining experience within a fine dining environment. As a Food Server, you will be responsible not only for taking and delivering orders accurately and promptly but also for creating a welcoming and organized atmosphere in the restaurant outlet. This role involves working closely with the events leadership team to ensure seamless service during special occasions and events held at the Property. Each day requires readiness to prepare the restaurant for service and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.

This position goes beyond simple order taking — the Food Server is tasked with ensuring the safety and security of guests and employees, practicing responsible alcohol service, and assisting in maintaining the ambiance and professionalism expected in a high-volume, fine dining setting such as a casino steakhouse. The position demands a high level of interpersonal skills, flexibility in working hours, and the ability to thrive under pressure in fast-paced and interruptive environments. Employees in this role must be prepared to work nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the demands of the business.

The Food Server plays an integral role in delivering excellent guest experiences by not only fulfilling orders but also managing tableware cleanliness, understanding beverage and food service protocols, and using point of sale systems effectively. Additionally, this role supports the overall team by bussing tables swiftly and responding positively to guest inquiries and requests, thus reinforcing the brand’s commitment to superior service. Candidates with prior fine dining experience, preferably in settings like high-volume casino steakhouses, and knowledge of wines and alcohol are preferred.

Working at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel means joining a fun, inclusive, and diverse team. Churchill Downs Incorporated fosters a workplace culture that values continuous learning, mutual respect, and innovation, ensuring that every team member feels supported and empowered. The company is an equal opportunity employer and embraces diversity in its workforce. This Food Server position offers a great opportunity for individuals interested in hospitality, gaming, and fine dining to advance their careers in a dynamic, well-respected organization.
