The role of Food Server within PENN Entertainment is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, fun, and engaging work environment. As a Food Server, you will be the face of the company’s hospitality, delivering exceptional guest experiences by adhering to all departmental standards and property policies related to service excellence. Your responsibilities will include warmly greeting guests, accurately taking and delivering food and beverage orders, and continuously ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of the menu, including preparation techniques, seasonings, ingredients, and presentation, allowing you to confidently recommend items tailored to guest preferences and enhance sales through up-selling appetizers, beverages, and desserts. Mastery of the POS system is essential to ensure precise order entry and timely service. Beyond serving duties, you will assist bus persons with maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in designated areas, ensuring equipment is clean and operational, and performing side work as required. Knowledge of current casino events and the ability to guide guests within the property will enhance guest interaction and contribute to their overall entertainment experience. This role requires a balance of excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction and team collaboration. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum two years of food server experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Must have knowledge of table service procedures and table etiquette
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Available to work required schedule, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Job Duties

  • Adheres to all departmental and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards
  • Greets and welcomes each guest seated in assigned station
  • Takes food and beverage orders, delivers prepared food promptly, and checks with table periodically to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintains current and accurate information regarding menu (i.e., preparation techniques, seasonings, ingredients, and plate presentation)
  • Suggests items to guests based on expressed guest preferences
  • Up-sells appetizers, beverages, and desserts in accordance with restaurant service standards
  • Correctly enters food and beverage orders into the POS system to ensure accurate preparation of product
