The position of Food Server at Hilton plays a vital role in the hotel’s continuous efforts to provide outstanding guest service and maintain financial profitability. The Food Server is responsible for managing the dining experience within the hotel, ensuring prompt and friendly service, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of menu items and current restaurant promotions. The role entails taking and accurately inputting food and beverage orders into the point-of-sale system, delivering orders in a timely manner, and ensuring that guests are satisfied throughout their meal.

Additionally, Food Servers must adhere to regulations for serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and ensure that their serving stations are fully stocked at all times. The role requires excellent communication skills, abilities in handling moderately heavy trays, and familiarity with operation of beverage and toast equipment. Job Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings, serviceware and menu items
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, record orders, and communicate with guests
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
  • Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures to pre-check order and close out the check

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Prefer six months to one year previous serving experience
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • Must obtain TIPS certification

Job Duties

  • Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and restaurant promotions and specials
  • Take guest food and/or beverage orders and input orders in appropriate point-of-sale system
  • Retrieve and deliver food and beverage orders in a timely manner
  • Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
  • Serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Ensure serving station is well-stocked at all times
