The Food Server role at The Village plays a vital part in delivering exceptional dining experiences to residents. This position involves engaging with residents in a pleasant and professional manner, beginning with taking orders and serving drinks, appetizers, entrées, and desserts. A food server is also responsible for maintaining a clean and inviting dining area by bussing dirty dishes and resetting tables with fresh linens, silverware, and china. The role includes completing daily side work and assisting with pantry, hostess, or expo duties as needed.

This position offers a starting wage of $17.10 per hour and is designed for individuals who enjoy fast, efficient, and friendly service. The Food Server ensures resident satisfaction by providing attentive service, checking on residents multiple times during their visit, and maintaining the overall appearance and order of their assigned sections. This role requires teamwork, effective time management, and a dedication to upholding the community’s standards and goals. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service or related field preferred
  • Ability to provide fast and friendly service
  • Effective time management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide fast, efficient, friendly service to everyone
  • Know the daily and weekly menus and keep food descriptions positive and enthusiastic
  • Take residents orders, gather drinks and appetizers, and serve items efficiently and timely
  • Keep tables clear of dirty dishes and be available to residents at all times
  • Ensure residents receive their entrees and dessert timely
  • Check on residents at least 3 times during their visit to ensure satisfaction
  • Buss, reset section, and complete daily sidework
  • Take on pantry, hostess, or expo duties as needed
  • Be a team player
  • Avoid personal conversations while serving residents and guests
  • Maintain desired appearance and order of section before and after service
  • Use time effectively to complete duties according to schedule
  • Understand and achieve set goals
  • Correct deficiencies as soon as possible
