Job Requirements
- Less than high school education
- Up to one month related experience or training
- Ability to read 2-3 syllable words
- Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers
- Ability to multiply and divide using tens and hundreds
- Ability to perform operations with American money, weight, volume and distance
- Ability to follow simple one to two-step instructions
- Ability to handle standardized situations with occasional variables
- Ability to stand, use hands, walk and talk frequently
- Ability to occasionally sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste or smell
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly and above with assistance
- Acceptable vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment
- Ability to work in environments with wet, humid, noisy and occasionally extreme conditions
Job Qualifications

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using basic numbers
- Ability to apply common sense to follow simple instructions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for the job
- Willingness to comply with safety and cleanliness standards
Job Duties
- Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors
- Prepare tables by laying out napkins and utensils and ensuring condiments are refilled
- Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations
- Direct guests to their tables, present menus, suggest dishes, assist in drink selection and inform guests about food preparation details
- Maintain proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling guest needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses and replenishing utensils
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or as directed by supervisor
- Assist with special events and fill in for absent staff
- Greet all guests and owners warmly
- Follow highest standards of cleanliness and health codes
- Perform duties safely and wear safety equipment
- Participate in safety programs and attend mandatory in-service meetings
- Understand and follow facility fire and disaster plans
