Job Requirements
- Food handler’s certificate or ability to obtain within 14 days of hire
- first aid and CPR certified or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Washington State alcohol permit or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- ability to pass DSHS background check
- sensitivity to the needs and concerns of older adults
- ability to read, write and communicate in English
Job Qualifications

- excellent customer service skills
- sensitivity to the needs and concerns of older adults
- ability to follow established food service practices
- ability to perform all aspects of host, busser and food server functions
- ability to take and submit food orders within established policies
- time management skills and ability to remain productive throughout shift
- good interpersonal skills for interacting with residents, family members, visitors and co-workers
- ability to read, write and communicate in English
- ability to pass DSHS background check
Job Duties
- Attend and participate in pre-meal and post-meal responsibilities
- assist in the set-up, service and breakdown daily
- perform host duties including greeting and seating residents and guests
- manage seating and take accurate orders ensuring prompt service
- serve meals following established service standard techniques
- manage resident to-go meals and delivery per community standards
- buss and clean tables after each course
- clean and sanitize the dining room preparing for the next shift
- assist in the set-up, service and breakdown of resident functions in private dining or common areas
- respond to resident questions, needs and concerns
- provide comment cards for residents and report all compliments and complaints to Dining Services Director
- assist dishwasher in storing clean dishes
- follow all established safety standards and report any safety concerns to Dining Services Director or Executive Director
