The Food Server role at Aramark is an essential position in supporting the successful operation of food service within various environments. This role involves a combination of food preparation, meal service, record keeping, and maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization. The Food Server assists managers by preparing meals and baked goods according to predetermined menus, ensuring that every dish meets quality and presentation standards. They play a crucial role in confirming meal components, managing food storage to preserve flavor and nutrients, and distributing meals accurately based on established schedules and policies.
In addition to food preparation and service, the Food Server is responsible for operating food preparation tools safely, expediting food assembly, and garnishing dishes to enhance visual appeal and customer satisfaction. The position requires strict adherence to food safety legislation, sanitation procedures, and proper handling and storage guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant kitchen environment. The Food Server is also tasked with daily cleaning duties, including sanitizing workspaces, cleaning refrigerators and freezers, managing waste and garbage collection areas, and assisting with general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing.
Physical demands of the Food Server role include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and enduring extended periods of walking and standing. The role also requires following uniform standards and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary to ensure safety.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- food service certification
- ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods

Job Duties
- Produce top-tier meals and baked goods following a predetermined menu
- compile a daily update to authenticate transactions and record meal arrangements
- understand what constitutes a complete meal and check for the presence of all necessary components
- store food accurately to preserve its flavor and nutrients
- distribute meals to diners according to prescribed meal schedules and policies
- operate and maintain food preparation tools, especially cutting tools
- ensure efficient and timely assembly of various food items and beverages
- enhance dishes with garnishes to improve visual appeal and customer satisfaction
- assist with cleaning refrigerators, freezers, and kitchen facilities
- abide by food safety legislation, including sanitation procedures and proper food handling
- adhere to uniform policy requirements
- liaise daily with manager to understand and execute the day's menu
- monitor food temperatures for safety
- maintain cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas
- regularly sanitize workspaces like steam tables, surfaces, and tools
- perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
- manage waste and maintain cleanliness of garbage collection sites and kitchen floors
- complete supplementary tasks including backing up operations in different kitchen zones
