Job Requirements

  • Some high school education
  • Ability to work part-time, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. including weekends
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff
  • Ability to follow health, safety and cleanliness standards
  • Willingness to attend mandatory in-service meetings and training
  • Ability to perform basic cleaning and dining preparation tasks
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, physical abilities test, drug screen and background check

Job Qualifications

  • ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred
  • Some high school education required
  • Bachelor's degree is nonessential
  • Related experience or training of at least 1 month is nonessential

Job Duties

  • Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors
  • Prepares tables by laying out napkins, utensils and refilling condiments
  • Stays updated on current menu choices, specialties and communicates inventory status with kitchen staff
  • Directs guests to their tables, presents menus, suggests dishes and assists with drink selection
  • Maintains proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling guest needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils and refilling glasses
  • Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed
  • Fills in for absent staff and assists with special events
  • Greets all guests warmly with appropriate greetings
  • Follows federal, state and corporate policies, health codes and safety standards in food handling and service
  • Reports safety hazards or accidents and participates in safety programs
  • Attends mandatory in-service meetings and complies with all policies
  • Understands facility fire and disaster plans and follows procedures during emergencies
  • Acts as a bringer of pie as a lighthearted role attribute
