Job Requirements

Some high school education
Ability to provide quality customer service
Basic knowledge of food service
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to perform basic cleaning duties
Willingness to comply with safety protocols
Flexibility to fill in for absent staff
Willingness to assist with special events
Successful completion of pre-employment physical, physical abilities test, drug screen and Department of Justice criminal background clearance

Job Duties

Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
Prepare tables by laying out napkins and utensils, ensuring condiments are refilled and performing all other preparation tasks
Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if kitchen staff is running out of any items
Direct guests to their tables, present menus, suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, inform guests about food preparation details and communicate specific guest needs to cooks
Maintain proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling guest needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils and refilling glasses
Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
Fill in for absent staff as needed
Assist with special events as needed
Greet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting
Follow highest standards of cleanliness and comply with all federal, state and corporate policies, health codes and guidelines in preparation and handling of foodstuffs
Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner, wear safety equipment as required, and report any safety hazards or accidents to supervisor
Follow department safety standards, practice correct body mechanics and participate in campus-wide safety programs
Attend all mandatory in-service meetings and comply with all department and facilities policies and procedures
Understand facility’s fire and disaster plans and follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies
Act as a bringer of pie
