Post Consumer Brands, a business unit of Post Holdings, Inc., is a renowned leader in the food industry, dedicated to providing consumers and their pets with a wide array of delicious, high-quality food options. Headquartered in Lakeville, Minnesota, the company prides itself on a portfolio of beloved brands, including Honey Bunches of Oats, PEBBLES, Grape-Nuts, Malt-O-Meal cereals, and Peter Pan peanut butter. Additionally, Post offers a range of pet food products under well-known brands such as Rachael Ray Nutrish, Kibbles 'n Bits, and 9Lives, serving both taste and nutrition needs for animals. Post Consumer Brands also delivers private label solutions to customers across categories like pet food, cereals, nut butters, and granola, reinforcing its market leadership and commitment to quality and innovation. Driven by its core mission to improve lives by making delicious, accessible food available to everyone, the company leverages advanced manufacturing practices and strong product development capabilities to stay at the forefront of the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry.

The Eugene, Oregon manufacturing facility of Post Consumer Brands plays a critical role in this mission by producing both organic and non-organic granola products, with an impressive annual output reaching up to 52 million pounds. This site employs over 200 manufacturing and support professionals and supports the supply of private-label granola offerings throughout the United States. Eugene is a city rich in culture and known for its sustainability initiatives, outdoor activities, and innovation — fostering an environment that aligns well with the company’s values of quality and continuous improvement. The area’s strong athletic influence, highlighted by its connection to Nike and the University of Oregon’s nationally recognized sports teams, adds to the dynamic and energetic vibe that employees experience daily.

Post Holdings is currently seeking a talented Food Scientist II to join the Product Development team at the Eugene plant. This is a full-time, highly engaging role ideally suited for a food science professional who combines deep baking chemistry expertise with creative culinary skills to develop granola, cereal, and grain-based products that stand out for flavor, texture, and crunchiness. The Food Scientist II will be responsible for leading and supporting new product development, enhancing existing product formulations, optimizing manufacturing processes, and managing commercialization efforts from concept through full-scale plant production.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience working with granola, cereal, snacks, or other grain-based foods, with strong capabilities in product formulation, scale-up, and the intricacies of commercial manufacturing. This position offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of beloved breakfast and snack products while collaborating within a growth-focused, team-oriented culture that balances the resources of a large enterprise with the agility of a smaller, innovative group.

Food Scientist II responsibilities include overseeing laboratory and pilot plant trials, troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issues using analytical approaches, coordinating with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Marketing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards like FDA regulations, GMPs, and HACCP. Furthermore, this role plays a key part in continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency, cost savings, and product excellence. Compensation is competitive, with a salary range from $70,386 to $105,590, reflecting the importance and impact of this role within the organization.

Candidates will appreciate that this position provides an environment where they can leverage their scientific expertise, baking technology knowledge, and culinary creativity to make products that consumers enjoy daily. With direct influence on product innovation and commercialization, they can expect to contribute meaningfully to the company's growth and success while benefiting from a collaborative workplace culture and ongoing professional development opportunities within Post Holdings.
