The Food Safety Sanitor role at Fortrex is a full-time, permanent, on-site position based in Kingsburg, California. This position is integral to maintaining the highest sanitation standards within food production plants. The Food Safety Sanitor is responsible for performing sanitation labor by executing the eight steps of sanitation while strictly adhering to all food safety and safety policies and procedures. The role requires working cooperatively with leads and management to ensure that sanitation procedures are followed thoroughly and consistently to uphold the company’s dedication to food safety.

This position involves physical work such as frequently lifting hoses, equipment, and chemical containers, as well as exposure to chemicals while using personal protective equipment including gloves, face shields, eye goggles, aprons, boots, and safety glasses. The candidate must be prepared to stand, lift, and crouch for extended periods in environments that may be wet, hot, or cold. Safety is paramount, and all tasks are to be executed with strict adherence to safety standards including the use of Lock-out Tag-out procedures. The role also demands the ability to follow instructions carefully, demonstrate strong safety awareness, and maintain attention to detail. Age and safety compliance requirements are strictly enforced, with a minimum age of 18 years for applicants.
